The management of GPiX has a proven track record of conceptualizing,
developing, and launching mobile video applications on major carrier
networks in the US and internationally.
Mike Branzuela, CEO
Mr. Branzuela is a serial entrepreneur with a successful track record in a
variety of industries.
Prior to generationPIX, Mr. Branzuela co-founded STA America (STAA), a
client server software/IT product and services firm, which grew to over 70
employees and $12 million in annual revenue in less than 3 years. In
addition to leading product development, Mr. Branzuela acquired key
Fortune 500 accounts including Kaiser Permanente, Chase Manhattan and
Mercedes Benz. Mr. Branzuela led the strategic restructuring to become a
premier IBM e-business provider and IBM Global Services CSA contracting
partner.
Prior to STAA, Mr. Branzuela was Director of Business Development for
Worldwide Capital Corporation (WCC), an investment banking firm and a
senior consultant to the World Bank specializing in energy and
telecommunications project finance. At WCC, Mr. Branzuela focused on
green-field wireless and energy infrastructure development opportunities
in Asia.
Mr. Branzuela co-founded Veracom, a new vehicle dealership group with
franchises in Ford, Mitsubishi, Honda and Volvo.
Laurence Binarao, CTO
Mr. Binarao is responsible for the overall technical direction at
generationPIX, and focuses on both advancing generationPIX's core
technology and on developing new applications. Mr. Binarao co-developed
generationPIX’s core products and technologies which include among others,
the GPiX video codec. He has over 15 years of experience in programming,
software and product development in the wireless and IT infrastructure
sectors. Mr. Binarao’s wireless experience includes BREW, Java, Mobile
Windows, Symbian, and other platform development.
Prior to generationPIX, Mr. Binarao was a Product Development leader at
STA America. Mr. Binarao, was responsible for the "Java Runtime Manager
for Websphere", an IBM marketed product and pioneered enterprise class
data stream mining process.
Board Members and Advisors
Peter C. Balas
Mr. Balas has over 20 years of combined experience in early stage
investing, venture capital, entrepreneur/founder, and start-ups in a
variety of industries including wireless, web based, and clean tech.
Mr. Balas is an advisor and serves on the Board of several high growth
private companies. Mr. Balas has a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical
Engineering, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Business
Administration, Finance, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Ike Eze
Mr. Eze has started several successful internet based companies over the past
10 years. Ike's start-up experience includes serving as the CEO of GPlay Inc.
a subscription-based online entertainment company. He also founded and served
as CEO of QSpace Inc., an Internet finance company that was sold to Experian
(the world's largest credit reporting agency). Ike has worked for The Boston
Consulting Group advising Fortune 100 clients, and Bechtel Inc. in business
development for its Advanced Systems group on global telecommunications, aerospace
and defense projects. He holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School in Finance
and Strategic Management and is a graduate (Osberg Scholar) of San Francisco
State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
